How much does it cost to sign up?

Entries for the Big Steps of Hope Virtual Walk are £15 each. This price includes an “MND Association” or “Walk to d’feet” T-shirt and an bespoke finisher’s medal exclusive to this event.

A £2.99 postage and packaging fee applies to each order, so if you have friends or family members who would also like to take part, you can purchase more than one entry at the same time to save money.

100% of the profits generated from entries will be donated to the MND Association.

When is the closing date for entries?

The Virtual Walk event is taking place throughout 2020.

There are a limited number of medals available, so sign up now to secure yours!

How do I know that I've entered?

An automatic confirmation message will be displayed upon completion of the registeration process, and a confirmation e-mail will also be sent to the e-mail address you provided.

If you haven’t received your confirmation e-mail, please check your junk folder and add us to your safe senders list.

If you’ve lost your confirmation e-mail, or not received it, please contact us.

What's included with my entry?

Every Virtual Walk entry includes a T-shirt and exclusive bespoke finisher’s medal.

When will I receive my medal and T-shirt?

We are currently expecting to receive the Big Steps of Hope 2020 medals from our supplier by the middle of May.

As soon as we have received the medals, we will begin dispatching Virtual Walk entry packs (including your medal and T-shirt).

You do not need to provide any evidence that you have completed your Virtual Walk in order to receive your T-shirt and medal.

Can I take part from outside the UK?

Yes!

We have people taking part in the Big Steps of Hope Virtual Walk from all over the world – from India all the way to the United States.

Please be patient as it may take a little longer for you to receive your T-shirt and medal.

How do I complete my Virtual Walk?

The Virtual Walk event is all about taking steps to help defeat Motor Neurone Disease – how you complete it is up to you.

You might want to set yourself a challenge – it could be taking a certain number of steps every day, or climbing to the top of a mountain on your stairs at home! You can see some of our Virtual Walk Ideas here!

However big or small, every step you take makes a difference and we’re incredibly grateful for your support.

I need to amend my details

Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to change any of your details – for example a shipping address to receive your Virtual Walk T-shirt and medal pack.

I haven't received my Virtual Walk pack!

Virtual Walk packs, including your T-shirt and finisher’s medal, will start to be posted from May 2020. We’ll e-mail you to let you know when we’ve started to dispatch them.

If you think you should have received your pack but haven’t, please contact us to let us know and a member of our team will get back to you as soon as possible.

Can I fundraise or get sponsorship?

There is no obligation to fundraise or get additional sponsorship for completing your Virtual Walk, but all money raised through donations and online fundraising helps support people living with MND and their families, and provides vital funds for research.

Every donation helps us to make a difference and will bring us closer to finding a cure.

If you have already registered to take part in the Virtual Walk and would like to receive a fundraising pack, sponsorship forms or more information, please contact the Fundraising Team at the MND Association directly. Details can be fouind on the MND Association’s website.

COVID-19 Statement

It goes without saying that the world is facing some difficult times and we need to come together as a community now more than ever. 💙🧡

In light of the recent Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we are looking at the implications on our Big Steps of Hope Sheffield Event this year and are continuing to monitor the current situation and advice from the UK Government.

Given the uncertainty at present, we are encouraging Big Steps of Hope supporters to sign up for our Virtual Walk to d’feet MND. However, if the August event can go ahead as planned, we are happy for Virtual Walk entrants to join us in Sheffield at no additional cost.

We will keep all our participants and the general public updated with any developments. We will post any updates on our website and social media feeds so please continue to follow us and keep in touch.

We are incredibly grateful for your support and understanding during this challenging time.

I have already signed up for the Sheffield Event - what do I do?

If you had already signed up for our Sheffield Event, your entry will be changed to a Virtual Walk at no additional cost. We’ll be in touch with you to discuss getting your medal and T-shirt posted out to you as soon as we have received the medal packs from our supplier.

In the scenario that our Sheffield Event is able to go ahead in August as planned, any person who had originally signed up to participate, or has signed up for the Virtual Walk, will be invited to attend at no additional cost.
